
Clinical and Sports Nutrition
Jennifer is currently gaining experience in clinical nutrition by working as a dietetic assistant at Stanford Healthcare. Here, she processes tube feeding orders, compares diet orders to patient files, and educates patients on therepuetic diets. Her clinical experience also includes nutritional assessment and conducting dietary recalls with patients at the Indian Health Center in San Jose, CA under the supervision of the practicing dietitian.
While a student intern at Eat2Perform, Inc Jennifer worked with a triathlete with gastrointestinal issues. She provided a full assessment and developed a PES statement and nutritional intervention, successfully decreasing GI episodes in the patient.

Nutrition Education
Jennifer is a proficient nutrition educator with experience presenting information on various nutrition topics. Her recent workshops included the importance of prebiotic and probiotic foods, benefits of pre- and post- workout nutrition, and calcium and vitamin D needs in geriatric adults.
She is also skilled in and enjoys nutrition counseling and creating educational handouts or visual aids in order to support her message.

Integrating Technology
Technology is becoming more prevalent in nutrition practice, education, and marketing. Jennifer has experience utilizing electronic medical record systems EPIC and HealthTouch which enable her to increase productivity and overall patient satisfaction and experience. In addition, Jennifer has polished skills utilizing various social media platforms in order to reach a broader audience, appeal to different learning styles, and create and build an online presence.

Nutrition Writing
Jennifer has honed her skills in communication and scientific writing, which allow her to translate complex nutrition and health information and relate it to a broad audience. Jennifer has also provided editorial assistance for a book on nutrition and healthy lifestyle currently being written by the dietitian at Eat2Perform, Inc.

Volunteer Work
Jennifer has volunteered her time at Stanford Healthcare in Palo Alto, CA in the diet office, helping create menus, procuring appropriate products for the hospital, and learning about the inner-workings of a hospital kitchen. She was a student intern at Eat2Perform, Inc. where she was exposed to a variety of non-conventional nutrition tasks in a private practice. She has also volunteered as a student educator and volunteer at both the Santa Clara Adult Education and the Indian Health Center of San Jose. She has also spent time volunteering at food pantries and local kitchens for low-income communities. Her time volunteering exposed her to a variety of demographics and allowed her strengthen her relationship with and give back to her community.
Experience and Dietetic Portfolio
Jennifer is currently an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics certified Nutrition and Dietetic Technician, Registered (NDTR) and works for Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, CA as a Dietetic Assistant. Jennifer also works at the private dietetics practice Eat2Perform, Inc in Los Altos, CA as an assistant to the Dietitian.
These positions have allowed her to stay current in ever-changing trends in nutrition while staying involved in medical nutrition therapy and therapeutic diets. As a Dietetic Assistant with Stanford Healthcare she is able to strengthen her knowledge and skills in clinical dietetics by regularly engaging with dietitians, nurses, doctors, and other medical practitioners in providing well rounded patient care. Working in a private practice allows Jennifer to get experience in other facets of nutrition like educating, marketing, blogging, and writing.
Before starting her professional nutrition career, she was a full time student at the University of Alabama. At U of A she completed her Didactic Certificate in Dietetics, which allowed her to sit for the NDTR exam and will allow her to apply and complete a Dietetic Internship in order to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
